Gabby wishes on a shooting star that she didn’t have to choose between her dream man in Arkansas and her dream job in music in New York, then fate grants her wish in the most unexpected of ways.
SYNOPSIS
Gabby Wolf (Daisy Ridley) owns a small, local music management company in Lafayette, Arkansas. In a bid to further her career ambitions, Gabby sells the company to a major talent agency in New York City, but on the night before she is set to leave, her long-term boyfriend Cam (Robbie Amell) proposes to her on stage in front of all her friends at her sister’s bar. Gabby is torn between staying in Arkansas and marrying the man she loves but perhaps is not ready to marry, or leaving for New York to pursue her dreams in music, and that night she wishes on a shooting star that she didn’t have to choose.
The next morning she moves to New York as planned, and has a difficult introduction to the slog of the city, but the morning after she wakes up back in Arkansas, having agreed to marry Cam. Gabby realises that her wish has been granted. She gets to live each day twice: once in New York, and then again in Arkansas, and must now juggle the various complexities of her double-existence. In New York, Gabby has to work hard to gain respect and achieve her goals; in Arkansas, she has to contend with Cam’s controlling mother and her own conflicted emotions while planning the wedding. Ultimately, though, Gabby must make a resolute decision one way or the other.
